The Appalachian Highlands Celts will be hosting there annual summer Solstice Festival in Johnson City on June 22-23 includes a candy dance for the kids, Highland athletics and music. blacksmith demonstrations, genealogy research, guest speakers, merchandise vendors, and food vendors. Everblade Academy will host several competitions with swords, spears and much more. This is an opportunity for the community to celebrate the beginning of summer with traditions that draw from our early history.
The Summer Solstice festival will be held at Tipton Haynes Historical Site, 2620 South Roan Street, Johnson City, TN. The hours on Saturday June 22 will be from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM while Sunday June 23 hours will be 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The cost is $10/day or $15 for the weekend for those age 10 and above. Kids 9 and under are free.
